Specs removal surgery in Kolkata

From glasses to no glasses, step by step
- Stop contact lenses: soft lenses a week before, rigid lenses about three weeks before.
- Assessment: power, topography, corneal thickness, dry eye, pressure, dilated retina check.
- Plan: Dr. Das explains which procedure suits you, and why, with a written estimate.
- Surgery day: minutes per eye under numbing drops; go home the same day.
- Follow-up: day 1, week 1, month 1 and month 3.

Over 40?
After about 40 the eye's natural lens loses focusing range, and reading glasses become necessary whatever your distance power. If you are over 45 or have early cataract, lens surgery with a multifocal or EDOF lens may remove the need for both distance and reading glasses.

Questions
Can everyone get rid of glasses?
Most people can, but not all. Keratoconus, very thin corneas, some eye diseases and unstable power can rule surgery out.
Is the operation painful?
No. Numbing drops are used. Some grittiness or watering for a few hours afterwards is normal.
